Drove the technology transformation of the engineering organization into an agile team structure. We started with 300+ engineers in eight different locations worldwide and restructured into 52 active Pods (self-contained Agile teams with DevOps and QA roles). Supported the pods in a portfolio management role using Jira and Confluence to provide metrics and visibility in addition to building and implementing scalable processes. In the last year supporting the growth of our Mumbai team by 100%.Annual Tech Summit – bringing together all director levels and above in the engineering organization to share knowledge and build relationships. This 3 day event normally consists of 30+ presentations with over 60 attendees. Our last tech summit also included speakers and guests from Nielsen as well as representatives from Gracenote’s eight worldwide locations. I was responsible for defining the theme, recruiting presentations, and running the show. Leveraged the summit by video recording every presentation and sharing the videos and presentation decks with the rest of the company. Brought together Finance, HR, Recruiting and Engineering Managers to develop a process to manage staffing and finance so that we have a clear and current view of the organization, and can project future budgets and run rates. Looking at every process and seeing if it could be better is a normal function of my job, where processes don't exist and would be helpful is another facet of my job. To me it is just part of me - always looking and evaluating the working world around me.

NextGen ITLCo Process Modeling with ProVision to capture and define process models for “Fast Path”, Offers and Demand Management IT lifecycleso Working directly with users to document their current and future state processeso Built a documentation system to share the processes and created in-depth user guides for the ProVision workflow modelerFollowing the NextGen Initiative I was responsible for the Hybrid Methodology with the Billing Replacement program. • Completed the Proof of Concept for the Hybrid Methodology of combining DIRECTV’s requirement based and Amdocs process based methodology• Developed a HLPD+ to satisfy Business needs by incorporating DIRECTV’s DBRD content with Amdocs process based content extracted from ARIS. Utilized custom written macros and templates to build a Word Masterfile system with relative links to allow multiple authors to contribute content within a SharePoint environment.• Developed Solution Verification PowerPoint decks that included a “navigator” window to illustrate the process steps in context of the overall flow – being able to always know where you are! These decks were also designed to be the stepping stone between the original process flows that were developed with the Business and the HLPD+ to make the transition easier to digest.• Used ARIS to clean up and prepare 39 process flows for documentation• Built 39 Solution Verification Decks and integrated content from ESA, BA, Amdocs and SFDC on a continuous basis to meet schedules based on the “leaky waterfall” system I developed• Documentied my Word “Masterfile System” to manage content for HLPD+Next up was IT Innovation - getting a chance to go back to my Stanford roots and employ Design Thinking and finding the best was to promote and enable Innovation at DIRECTV.

Worked directly with SME’s (many at different sites) to gain a true understanding of their processes and then created easy to follow, detailed user guides that share the wealth of knowledge throughout the company. Using a custom built hardware and software setup I do the extraction in a way that causes minimal impact on the SME’s workload. I do all the heavy lifting – I don’t make the SME’s document their knowledge and merely polish up their work. This skill set can also be used to document in house proprietary applications (or enhance existing documentation).
