Using the "Big Blue" machine under the Fadley group, we utilize the light from the Advanced Light Source (ALS) to perform condensed matter experiments on various materials. This includes x-ray spectroscopy, standing wave analysis, and theory analysis.

The HP West machine at UC Davis utilizes a AlKalpha x ray source to determine surface composition of materials. We are now stretching into the field of standing wave analysis and condensed matter theory analysis through the use of a local cluster.
