I became interested in non profit work after interning my senior year of UCA. During my internship I worked the gardens and helped facilitate cooking lessons. The lessons were for the low income children in rural Northern Arkansas. It was a very hard but rewarding summer where I met a FoodCorps service member who introduced me to nonprofit FoodCorps. After graduating with a degree in Family Consumer Science. I worked with Pulaski County Extension Office as a EFNEP- program educator. My job was to educate children and low income parents and care givers on how to eat nutritious meals on a tight budget. Almost one year later I joined FoodCorps and serve in Van Buren, AR for two years. I served in several elementary schools as a FoodCorps service member. I lead a variety of lessons to k-5th grad students. I currently work a Baptist Hospital as a Nutrition Assistant ll. I give heart and hypertension Nutrition educations to patients. I perform a variety of other tasks as.
