His business ventures are based in Europe, North America, Africa as well as India.Stephan was an MIT Global Strategy advisor from 2005 until 2012 and an ELES Africa Ambassador in 2011. In 2008 Stephan was presented with the acclaimed USDLA Mobile Innovations Award, recognizing innovative platform technologies in support of long-distance, asynchronous and online learning. From 1997 to 1999 Stephan represented the United States under a standardization workgroup of IEEE, establishing international interoperability standards of learning environments.
