Second, I am the lead for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. I work with our vendors to ensure we are using funds as they are appropriated in our budget. I am responsible for creating purchase orders, following through with delivery and paying the invoices accurately and on time. This requires creating and maintaining a positive relationship with our vendors and being available for any questions or concerns in regards to a product's quality assurance. Finally, I am the main point of contact for all matters relating to Human Resources for nearly 150 employees, both union and non-union. I am responsible for keeping updated confidential personnel files, knowing about the City's benefits (insurance, retirement, leave balances, etc) to ensure a positive morale, both in the office and out in the field. My remaining job duties include other budget items like checks and balances, keeping office supplies in stock, being involved with the safety committee, and any other miscellaneous issue that may come up on any given day. It's hard work and can be overwhelming at times but I love my job because it challenges me every day and I am constantly learning new things. I also work with a great staff and as a team, we strive to make living and commuting long throughout Salt Lake City a great experience for our residents, our employees, and those just passing through.
