ARCH 732: Embodied Carbon and Architecture This course brings together a hands-on introduction to carbon accounting and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), paired with exploration of innovation in technology, policy and economy aimed at radically decarbonizing the built environment. In the course, students will learn the fundamental of comparative carbon accounting by building comparative LCA models of materials and assemblies, while also exploring material life cycles, industrial processes, supply chain dynamics and political and economic dimensions of environmental impact data. LARP 761 Urban Ecology This course teaches foundational concepts of landscape and ecosystems ecology, research methodology, and application to design. The course explores at engineered, human-impacted urban systems as a way of having students dig into and better understand ecological mechanisms and function. By teaching design students to engage with contemporary ecological literature, exposing students to robust experimental design and ecological field assessment methods, and introducing them to practicing restoration ecologists, the course prepares students to employ fundamental ecological mechanisms to more credibly and effectively model landscape performance over time.

Scenario Journal is an online publication focused on the next generation of urban landscapes. Scenario brings together work from practitioners, academics and students of landscape, planning, architecture, art, engineering, and environmental science. The journal is committed to striking a balance between rigorous and critical academic pieces, provocative thought pieces, design projects and graphically lush photo essays/artistic work.

As a member of the KieranTimberlake Research Group, I investigate topics related to the interaction between the constructed and natural environment, including climate change, life cycle analysis (LCA), building materials, environmental systems, and urban ecology. Combining a background in environmental science and architectural design, I work closely with design teams, acting as a bridge between research and practice, bringing data-driven analysis and topical research to complex architectural problems.

Teaching Assistant for Ecological Urbanism and Sustainable Design graduate-level courses at the Yale School of Architecture (YSOA).

Conducted research on urban agricultural systems design, greenhouse innovation and systems modeling with a team of brilliant, ecologists, designers, planners, and climate finance specialists. Contributed to the Polydome project, a polycultural net-zero greenhouse prototype for the Dutch Department of Agriculture.

Assisted in the coordination of events accompanying SOAK: Mumbai in an Estuary, an exhibition at the National Gallery of Modern Art, Mumbai which brought together architects, artists, engineers, planners and residents to reimagine Bombay’s social and natural landscape as a fluid terrain of land and water.

Participated in a semester long design/build studio focusing on the design of a low income house in New Haven followed by four months of building over the summer.

Worked in a community center in the Lower Ninth spearheading community garden outreach efforts, as well as design and construction of rainwater harvesting, compost systems, gardens, and kitchen addition.

THE PRACTICE OF MOVEMENT: NOMADIC DOMESTIC ARCHITECTURE (Mongolia, India, Mauritania & Ireland)The goals of this year-long project were twofold: first, to examine the design, construction and use of mobile, domestic structures by nomadic peoples. Second, to analyze how these structures and the process of their fabrication supports an understanding of landscape and “home” based in movement.

Eight months restoring and renovating a 98-year old Victorian house. Ran project from permit application through demolition, into construction and finish detailing.
