Richard learned BSL during lockdown when face-masks and screens made it impossible to communicate. During this time he noticed not only a lack of understanding of the issues of the deaf, but was often made to feel like a nuisance when he couldn't communicate or receive others' communication. He became passionate about raising awareness about hearing loss, including the surprising fact that 1 in 6 of us have it.
