As the Director of Finance, I work closely with the Executive Director and other staff members to handle the day-to-day financial operations of programs and services. The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing internal controls, setting financial targets, developing a financial strategy, conducting feasibility studies, monitoring expenditure, overseeing the annual financial audit, managing cash flow, evaluating investments, and ensuring tax compliance. Additionally, the Director of Finance is responsible for the accounting operations of the organization, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, billing for services, and payroll, including the oversight of direct deposit. The Director of Finance is also responsible for monitoring income and expenses, preparing financial reports, implementing the employee benefits plan (health and dental insurance, retirement, and workman’s comp), and ensuring the implementation of all other insurances relevant to the organization's work. This role will also play a key part in developing program and organizational budgets. Over time, this position will take on more Human Resource functions and review and modify tasks previously conducted by the Comptroller.
