A railway professional and chartered Civil Engineer with over 30 years of experience, Stephen possesses a rare blend of skills, bringing together infrastructure specification and management, operations, rolling stock and customer experience. He understands the relationship between these areas and how they can be best combined to deliver benefits to rail passengers, operators and the economy.Stephen was responsible for the specification of many of Chiltern Railways’ successful infrastructure investments, including the “Evergreen” series of route upgrades and the award-winning project to deliver a new rail link between London Marylebone, Bicester and Oxford. Stephen went on to help establish the East West Railway Company (a non-departmental public arm’s length body set up by the government to accelerate the East West Rail project) where he used his knowledge and experience to help shape this £5bn project, delivering a new rail link between Oxford, Milton Keynes and Cambridge.
