Chief Technology Officer
CurrentLead King County's 275-person Technology Division with overall responsibility and accountability for the delivery of End-User Support, Core Infrastructure, Production Operations, and Engineering services. Provide strategic and hands-on leadership for the breadth of technology operations, infrastructure, customer care, and engineering functions that comprise the core set of technology services for King County. Partner with county business leaders to target cost-effective and innovative technology solutions. Direct technical and service operations for county-wide technology serving over 60 lines of business. Currently sponsor and lead KCIT’s multi-year operating model transformation, fusing Lean, Agile, and product management for the department and beyond. Increasing employee engagement, business alignment, strategic focus, and improved customer experience.-Consistently increased and sustained year-over-year employee engagement scores through the co-design and employment of a system that amplifies leadership impact. The systems uses collaborative learning experiences that value both individual and team success, and leads teams in a human-centered way.-Sponsored and implemented a Smart Building Management platform in six months, mapping over 1.5 million sq/ft of office space and enabling a hoteling and hot desk return-to-work reservation system currently serving more than 1,000 county employees in five locations. -Successfully executed key technology improvements that strengthened the resiliency of platforms that are foundational to King County's digital public services. These enhancements have resulted in the reduction of major incidents by 50% across a three-year period.-Increased the diversity of the CTO leadership team by 93% over a two-year period through a combination of strategic recruiting and intentional power sharing, to create a more expansive definition of the leadership team.
