I am a person-centred psychologist working with individuals and couples in my city practice. As a registered supervisor, I also offer supervision to psychologists and psychotherapists. I have taught counselling at La Trobe, Swinburne and Monash universities and at MIECAT (Melbourne Institute for Experiential and Creative Arts Therapy), Phoenix and Cairnmillar institutes. My focus has been on the intersections of theory, practice, ethics and personal development. I am a poly-friendly and queer-friendly counsellor.

My work as a supervisor of team leaders at Merri Health encompasses clinical, organisational, and interpersonal issues, including training, support, self-care and forward planning. I work at the intersection of the personal, the political and the structural, with and eye on the welfare of the organisation, the team leader, practitioners and the clients.

As editor of Psychotherapy & Counselling Today, I saw research into counselling and psychotherapeutic theory, practice and ethics as something necessarily alive and vibrant. It is often a different type of inquiry to the traditional psychological approach of positivist, quantitative analysis. At its core, research in psychotherapy is about curiosity, creativity, rigour and communication. Languaging from a space of mystery. Finding words that shine a light on what happens when we usher a client into our consulting space. Discovering themes that arise from our struggles with human existence. Answering spoken and unspoken questions about what we do, why we do it, and how we can individually and collectively make this a better world. This journal might be one small piece in a growing awareness of the importance of inquiring into and speaking about what we do professionally.
