I contribute to the Reserve Bank of Australia’s quarterly survey of market economists. I am a four-time winner of The Age / Sydney Morning Herald BusinessDay Economic Survey. I also contribute forecasts to the monthly Bloomberg Australia Economy Survey, the AFR Quarterly Survey and The Conversation bi-annual survey.I am a Senior Adviser to the Monash Centre for Financial Studies at Monash University.I am an Adjunct Professor the Faculty of Business, Government and Law at the University of Canberra attached to the National Centre for Social and Economic Modelling (NATSEM).I have completed the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA)® program which is the peak, international technical portfolio construction certification designation for investment management analysts - that is, those involved in any aspect of constructing multi-manager portfolios.I am a member of the New South Wales Community Housing Industry Council (CHIC) that advises the NSW Government on matters to do with affordable housing. I am a former member of the China Australia Financial Markets Working Group (Victorian branch). I am a member of the Melbourne Economic Forum convened by the Victoria University and the University of Melbourne.Prior to my current role I worked at Industry Super Australia for nearly six years as Chief Economist. In the 2000s, I worked as a senior policy officer at both the Federal Treasury and Department of Finance in Canberra in macroeconomic policy and budget analysis.

As ISA's Chief Economist, our Economics Unit developed a pioneering flow-of-funds macroeconomic model of the Australian economy known as MATILDA. It is intended to shed light on the risks associated with balance sheets in key institutional sectors (households, banks, superannuation, general government etc) and the real Australian economy.Our Economics Unit produced a discussion paper series on the many of the topical investment opportunities open to superannuation funds. These include unlisted property and infrastructure, agriculture, affordable and private placements, opportunities in electricity generation, private equity and aged care.
