My name is Stephen Asante, a freelance digital artist and a biro hyperrealistic artist based in Accra. My work explores the intersection of human gesture and style of fashion. I draw inspiration from street style fashion and poses. I am particularly inspired by the way street art challenges the boundaries of traditional art forms, pushing the envelope and provoking thought and emotion in viewers.As a biro realistic artist, my work is a tribute to the beauty and detail that can be captured through the medium of ballpoint pen. My focus is on creating hyper-realistic depictions of my subjects, using layers of cross-hatching and fine strokes to build up texture and tone.I am drawn to the challenge of working with a medium that is often associated with quick sketches or notes, but which has the potential to produce stunning, highly detailed pieces. Each piece I create is a labor of love, requiring countless hours of painstaking work and an unwavering attention to detail.My subjects often include portraits, still lifes, and landscapes, all of which offer unique challenges in terms of capturing the subtle nuances of light and shadow. I am fascinated by the way that light can transform a subject, revealing unexpected details and creating a sense of depth and atmosphere.Ultimately, my goal as an artist is to push the boundaries of what is possible with ballpoint pen, to create works that are not only technically impressive but also emotionally resonant. Whether I am capturing the beauty of a single flower or the complexity of the human face, my aim is to create pieces that invite the viewer to engage with the subject on a deeper level and to appreciate the power of this often-overlooked medium.
