Current EmploymentEstates & Facilities, Assurance and Compliance Health and Safety Officer To assist the Estates & Facilities Managers in the strategic development of an organisational culture that promotes the health and safety of all employees and supports a safe working environment.To provide day to day specialist advice to departments on all aspects of health and safety management including emergency arrangements, risk assessments, accident reporting procedures, investigations into accidents and dangerous occurrences, maintenance of statutory registers, workplace inspections, working methods and equipment.To undertake internal health and safety management audits.To develop and deliver various health and safety training programmes relative to the Estates and Facilities divisions. To ensure Contractor Health & Safety Management compliance.Assist in the preparation of corporate and departmental health and safety policies and policy arrangements.Assist in the interpretation of specialist legislation and advise on the impact of existing practice.Provide specialist advice on current best practice in occupational health and safety management and developments in health and safety legislation and enable decisions and judgements to be made consistently with the Trust obligations as employers.Assist in the preparation of reports, briefing papers and discussion documents for the Senior Management Team, Trust Committee, Health and Safety Committee and Focus Groups on health and safety matters.Undertake Asbestos Condition Inspections, update Asbestos Register and report defects for remedial action.Undertake and advise on the completing and planning of general and specific risk assessments, including COSHH, Equipment, Manual Handling, DSE, First Aid, Noise, PPE, etc.In conjunction with the Training Lead plan, assist in the development of / deliver health & safety training aimed at raising awareness and competence levels and to promote the active management of health and safety through the range of EFM services.Assist in the development, planning and implementation of health and safety standards against which to measure the effectiveness of existing health and safety policies and procedures.Undertake monitoring and auditing of health and safety performance, identify issues, and recommend innovative and preventative measures to improve safety performance and maximise safety in the workplace.Accurate data input and preparation of incident & accident statistics.Maintain Approved Contractor list, issuing & receiving assurance compliant documentation
