About Stephen B.

My name is Stephen Birkmire and I am a social studies teacher from New York State. I grew up in West Islip, NY and completed my undergraduate degree at SUNY Cortland. At SUNY Cortland, I received a bachelor's degree in History and Adolescence Education: Social Studies. I student taught in the Central New York area and had a tremendous experience teaching students from both urban and rural communities. Upon graduating, I received a teaching position from the Copiague School District on Long Island and I continue to serve this district today. As an educator, I am dedicated to my profession and enjoy working in high-needs schools. My strengths include differentiating instruction and utilizing technology in the classroom. In the future, I hope to become a special education teacher in addition to being a social studies teacher.
