I am a senior Banker with over 23 years’ experience in telecoms, media & technology (TMT) research, where I established an industry leading platform based on deep knowledge, strategic vision and close relationships with stakeholders across the sector. I possess a valuable combination of detailed technological and regulatory expertise with the ability to construct and present persuasive, accessible analysis relating to complex topics.In over fifteen years as head of HSBC’s top-ranked TMT team, I built a widely respected business, extending the reach and value of our research by incorporating equipment vendors, broadcast and social media firms alongside telecoms, and focused our output on in-depth, strategic, thematic reports. I developed strong relationships with leading institutional investors and corporate management teams while spearheading engagement with regulators as well as European and UK Government bodies.I am proud to have recruited and retained a diverse team of highly motivated specialists, and to have cultivated a collaborative and collegiate culture that helped to underpin exceptional retention rates. My interest in technology extends to investment in, and business development for, a number of start-up companies, particularly in the biotech field. I helped found and sat on the Board of Molecular Templates (MTEM), a clinical stage company listed on the NASDAQ.
