Working as an associate through J D Wetherspoon to supplement and support my time at university studying Physics with Astrophysics. A hard and physical, yet rewarding job working to high standards of cleanliness and delivery to support and maintain the high standards expected to millions of customers through over 950 branches of J D Wetherspoon throughout the UK.

Responsible, hands-on management role in a high pressure environment. Duties involved the overseeing of all day to day operations, staff management, managing sales objectives and setting and meeting targets, ensuring smooth and efficient running of both team and operations in a high pressure environment, managing of customer complaints and issues, control of stock and gross profit, organising of breaks, managing high volumes of paperwork and recording accurate readings, opening and closing the store in mornings/evenings, taking phone calls, staff training and all other issues which needed addressing with internal and external aspects of the shop. This required a huge level of responsibility, good levels of self-motivation and a wide range of personal skills, constantly being developed. I worked my way up in this role from being a crew member in the Stockton-on-Tees branch, being recognised by multiple district managers for my potential and promoted to work in a higher capacity restaurant where my skills could be used to achieve more advantageous business results.
