It Manager - Cloudops
CurrentI manage a team of 8 technical staff who are skilled in the areas of Networking, Cloud and Devops. I manage the people, technology, costs and risks associated with the services provided by my team and I am accountable for all of their decisions. On the team side I am accountable for project delivery, support, and managing appropriate staffing levels. I am responsible for recruitment, performance management, training and individualised development, promotions and motivating for reward based compensation changes.I am responsible for the support and escalation agreements with vendors and I manage the relationships with providers.On the technology side I am accountable for the adoption of new technologies into the operational state, the ongoing support thereof and the life cycles of the assets in our estate. My team provides subject matter expert advice to the architecture team and needs to ensure that the services offered are operationally feasible and efficiently on boarded. My team also provides ongoing operational support and consultancy to other teams where networking and cloud know-how is needed.I am accountable for the business value of my team. This can take many forms: expenditure control (technology purchases, external services, overtime claims), business cases for new technologies, justifications for hardware or software purchases, and prioritisation of their efforts to make sure we're efficiently aligned with business priorities.I am accountable for the identification, management and reduction of risks within my team and the technologies under my service offering. I raise the visibility of risks and their relevance to the business and I drive initiatives to reduce or eliminate the risk. I am accountable for ensuring that the Cloudops service passes all audit and regulatory requirements.
