I started my career as a Construction Site Engineer with the Tarmac Group over 30 years ago. Since then I have held roles in all parts of the construction industry supply chain in both executive and non-executive positions. I have held roles at Tarmac, Schal, Jarvis, Laing O'Rourke, Alumasc and Wates.I was appointed to the Executive Committee of the Wates Group in January 2015 and since then I have played a major role in developing the business into the leading privately owned construction, property services and development business that it is today.I am passionate about education and I believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to reach their full potential, this led me to getting involved as a founding Trustee and Governor of the XP Free School. I have also become a major supporter of the Talent Foundry, a charity aimed at increasing social mobility.I have specialist expertise in strategy, commercial management, marketing, communications, Government affairs, stakeholder engagement, project finance, ESG, innovation, M&A, public private partnerships, frameworks and risk management.I am a Chartered Surveyor, Chartered Builder and I have an extensive academic history in construction and business related studies.
