Undertook research on the master circadian clock, the Suprachiasmatic Nucleus, or SCN, in order to understand the network properties of this nucleus using single-cell bioluminescence and fluorescence imaging.Investigated the relationship between the circadian clock and calcium in neonatal cardiomyocytes, using combined bioluminescence and fluorescence imaging techniques.

Characterized the effects of the glucocorticoid, corticosterone, on the mammalian pulmonary clock. I also investigated its effect on the complementary immune system response, using peritoneal and bone marrow-derived macrophages as a model. Worked on an automatic, in-vitro flow-through mechanism, for cell and tissue culture, which could administer drugs/compounds of choice and remove them, without user intervention. This was linked to real-time bioluminescence recording equipment.Founder member of the Life Sciences postgraduate society. We organized weekly seminars to showcase graduate research as well as securing talks by eminent scientists. We also organized periodic social events.
