His collection and ability to pick run away hits helped establish his first comic book store, Hooked On Comics in Tampa FL. The biggest collectible store in Florida at the time. When the industry imploded, Stephen saw the writing on the wall and jumped in the Horror entertainment industry with Video Mayhem of Florida.While growing the Video Mayhem brand in the late 90's, Stephen upped the stakes and opened the Video Mayhem store in Y-bor City while selling VHS tapes of rare and hard to find product all across the internet. As DVD slowly became the dominant format for movies, Stephen turned to buying the rights to international horror movies and in 2002 Unearthed Films was born.Unearthed Films began to grow at an exponential rate and Stephen closed the Video Mayhem store to promote, push and turn Unearthed Films into a leading brand in horror. He released infamous and rare horror films from around the world, while working with producers, directors and some major studios while gaining traction in the marketplace. In the meantime, Stephen began to sell films internationally to markets in Japan, Germany, France and Australia while importing films to other companies from those territories for release domestically in the United States. Stephen went on to write many successful screenplays, including the award-winning "Bubba the Redneck Werewolf".His Hellucination trilogy of books on religion raised controversy and consumed an unlikely audience. Stephen Biro secured the rights to the Guinea Pig Series of films and created the American Guinea Pig Series. He has played the role of writer, director, actor, producer and has been active in just about every aspect of the film industry.
