Since September 2014, I have been part of the Jetstar Maintenance Watch team in the position of Duty Technical Manager. This has been an amazing experience allowing me to grow as a person and a Manager, managing the maintenance and operations of the Jetstar Australia – New Zealand fleet. In Maintenance Watch I have been faced with many challenges, each challenge has helped me develop further professionally and personally, enabling me to contribute to the betterment of the Jetstar brand.Recently I was asked to travel to Hong Kong to be the Lead Technical Compliance Co-ordinator for the B787 VH-VKJ heavy maintenance C Check. This was a rewarding experience being part of a highly motivated team working towards completing the project on time and in a safe and compliant matter.Other significant experiences during my time in Maintenance Watch have been when I was part of the Jetstar 2018 Aerospace Maintenance Competition team where we achieved a second place in the International Teams category. In 2018-2019 I completed my Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. I have been involved in training and assessment throughout my career as an Apprentice Mentor, Engine Run Assessor, and in Maintenance Watch tasked with training new team members. Completing the Certificate 4 has provided me a wealth of knowledge and further skills that I can now put to good practice in the workplace. An example of this is the re-current and refresher training that I have developed for Duty Technical Managers and Fleet Technical Specialist within Maintenance Watch.My first introduction to the Jetstar Team was in 2013 when I was contracted through KORR to Jetstar Engineering in Sydney, working as a B1 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. Holding ratings on both the A320 and A330 I was quickly delegated the role of International Team Leader. In this role I had the responsibilities to lead a team of highly motivated engineers maintaining and handling Jetstar’s international operations out of Sydney.Prior to joining Jetstar, I was a B1 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with Qantas Engineering based in Sydney. I completed my apprenticeship from 1997 to 2001, receiving Commendation Certificates for every year of my apprenticeship. I achieved my first aircraft engineers license type rating on the B767 in 2005. In 2006 I was selected to join an A330 specialised crew. The A330 was a new aircraft type to Qantas Engineering in Sydney, I was lucky enough to be involved in the introduction of this aircraft setting up tooling and equipment for the maintenance of this aircraft type.
