I assist the surgeon by anticipating the instrumentation he needs for surgery and helping with procedures. During my shift I help final any rooms that come down and restock the O.R. for the next day. Case cart needs are also pulled and gear from Central Supply put away accordingly.

During my orientation after graduating Naval School of Health and Science into the O.R. I learned all the different services including Neuro, Ortho, General, GYN and Vascular. I learned many things from doing Gastric Bypasses, prepping the surgical site, inserting foley catheters, and circulating along with being a Surgical technologist and assisting surgeons.
