I managed the design of transmission line projects from 132 kV to 765 kV lines. This involved integration of electrical, mechanical and civil engineering practises, as well as providing construction support.Transmission Design• Lattice tower structural analysis using PLS Tower (FEA package).• Mechanical hardware design - connection point between towers and conductors.• Conductor optimisation design by comparing capital cost, lifetime losses and design specifications.Construction Supervision• Create safe work instructions based on Occupational Health and Safety Act.• Ensure equipment is certified and correctly selected based on safe working loads.• Witness first off construction phases to verify competence of contractor.Project Management• Manage a multi-disciplinary team of engineers.• Interact with various stakeholders such as project managers, environmental specialists, substation engineers and site supervisors etc.• Prepare task schedules and deliver dates.• Generate bill of materials.• Preparing design reports, line specification reports and construction reports.
