Developed the Clinical Governance Management System (CGMS). Produces Electronic Discharge Summaries (EDS) with full allergy checks recorded, a medication reconciliation button and can fax or send via HL7.The system uses a codeset for recording problems and procedures which enables prompting for audits where the relevant problem exists. Undertook review of Standards of practice within the area encompassing quality and safety and professional development of 40 FTE of staff, clinically, professionally and as a teamFollowing review of medication incidents I, along with the ward pharmacist, introducted a colour-coded anticoagulation chart for prescribing and administration of these high risk medications, with decision support and evidence-based normograms; this innovation went Hospital and then state-wide.Introduction of Braden Scale scores and date / time recording of IV insertions into the observations charts in Cardiology, this innovation went Hospital-wide.In light of supply, patient safety and staff dissatisfaction I introduced the “Individual Patient Drug Dispensing System” (IPDDS) in Cardiology. There were marked improvements in all these parameters, which, when feedback to Nursing Executive, led to the roll-out of the system throughout the HospitalDesign and Development of Evidence-Based, Patient-focused Clinical Pathways, which were used throughout the state.
