During my time with Ericsson, I have learned the fundamentals of telecoms, including the progressionof 2G to 5G, the architecture of networks, and working with new tools and technology such asWireshark, Kubernetes, and docker. As part of my graduate program, I have been rotating betweendifferent projects, the first of which was with Three Ireland. I was placed in their data center where Icarried out call testing and troubleshooting with the customer. I was required to collect phone logs,take Wireshark traces, and work with the NGV team to finalize the product for the customer. Workingin the data center allowed me to experience working with the customer while simultaneously usingthe theoretical knowledge I gained while using the Ericsson training portal.After finishing up on the NGV project, I then had five weeks of 5G training. Throughout this time, Ilearned about the core concepts of 5G: orchestration, management, and protocols and procedures.The first two weeks consisted of the theory, and the final three weeks were internal on-the-jobtraining exercises. For the exercise, I was placed in a team with three others, and we were required tocomplete a 5G cloud core and EPC installation. This training expanded my knowledge andunderstanding of 5G architecture and allowed me to have first-hand experience of the innovativestrategy of the Ericsson organisation.Notable training:- EPC Signaling in 4G/5G- 5G Core Protocols and Procedures- 5G Core Concepts
