Other key achievements and roles include,* Devised and implemented a robust measurement method for the calculation of aircraft maintenance savings based on current and planned aircraft utilisation at British Airways Engineering.* Innovator for an industry first procedure to consolidate aircraft structural inspection programmes. Adopted by Boeing, the philosophy was incorporated into new generation aircraft Maintenance Planning Documents.* Technical team leader during recovery of structurally damaged HS748/ATP, BAC1-11, B757 and B747 aircraft in Asia, Europe and North America.* Seconded to British Airways Maintenance Cardiff as Technical Support Leader for the first B747 Section 41 modification accomplished in UK, completed March 1995.* Seconded to Air Hong Kong, in Hong Kong, for three months in 1991 as Structures Development Engineer responsible for ageing B707 and B747 freighter aircraft.* Posted to HAECO, Hong Kong in 1991 and 1992/3 for nine and seven months respectively, to provide technical engineering support for the British Airways Boeing 747-136 Ageing Aircraft Programme.* Member of the BAC 1-11 Ageing Aircraft Structures Working Group, the B757/767 Structures Working Group, BAe ATP Maintenance Review Board and Concorde Re-Life Structures Working Group.

The role was diverse in that is covered airframe maintenance and repair and, the ground power and test equipment which was a hydraulic based system with a pneumatic control and monitoring system.Key achievements were,* Being made project leader so early in my career for the implementation of a new ground test control and monitoring system developed in conjunction with the Swiss Air Force.* Devised a bench test system for the above.* Installed and commissioned the new system at RAF West Raynham.
