Bowman is a quantitative researcher with expertise in health systems and health policy. He served with the Washington State Department of Health as the director of the Office of Community Health Systems. He previously served as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for the Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health at UAMS and also as the Director of the Master of Health Services Administration program within the College of Public Health. Bowman previously served on the faculty of Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in the Department of Health Policy and Management where he conducted epidemiologic and health services research in injury control, emergency medicine, and trauma systems, as well as taught courses in Injury Epidemiology, Surveillance, and EMS and Trauma Systems. Prior to entering academia, he managed and directed a variety of programs with the Washington State Department of Health.
