I started my career with the City of Mansfield Division of Police in November of 2007 as a Patrol Officer. In September, 2014, I was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. I am currently a front-line supervisor responsible for both administrative and patrol functions, supervising police officers in the performance of regularly assigned patrol and incident investigations, managing active crime scenes, preparing shift notices and assignments, conducting performance evaluations, conducting internal investigations, and reviewing police documentation including incident and accident reports, daily logs for accuracy and compliance with criminal, motor vehicle, and traffic laws. I am also a Field Training Officer Supervisor, responsible for reviewing and evaluating probationary officers in the field training process.

During this time I was the bargaining unit coordinator for the patrol officers union. I represented over 40 officers through the labor relations process prior to promoting out of the unit. During my time as the bargain unit coordinator I was actively involved in the grievance process to include participation in arbitrations. I was actively involved in contract negotiations.

I worked for the City of Marion as a Patrol Officer, and although my time in Marion was short I was able to work with some great people and learn a lot about excellent leadership. The opportunity arose to accept a position with the Mansfield Police Department where I lived and I was excited for new opportunity.

As a Deputy in the Corrections Division, I was responsible for daily inmate supervision in the jail and also inmate transport. In the spring of 2006 I began supervising the inmate work detail. During this time I supervised a crew of 5-10 inmates responsible for basic maintenance of the county facilities. In January of 2007 I was promoted to road patrol.
