This position was tasked with researching possible areas for business improvements, identifying the commercial benefits of these and, ultimately, delivering them. A high degree of networking within and outwith the company was required to identify and utilise resources cost-effectively. I established a laser-scanning team from the ground up that has allowed RDS to deliver turn-key brownfield engineering projects, as well as opening up new revenue streams.Key duties included:o Worked with the Management and Engineering teams to identify pain points and areas for business improvements, as well as potential alternative revenue streams.o Developed relationships with key company personnel and the external supply chain to identify potential solutions and determine the commercial viability of those.o Presented solutions to the “customer” and developed business cases to support decision making and obtain funding.o Established project objectives, milestones and success gates, and managed resources and budgets.o Developed UATs at key stages to ensure the solutions continued to deliver against the specifications.o Wrote the supporting processes, procedures, workflows, and training materials.o Delivered regular presentations and reports for the project sponsors.o Researched, designed and implemented a laser scanning solution for Brownfield site surveys.o Reverse-engineered the RAD code for circular scanning targets and produced 1024 unique company-specific targets, saving hours of registration time.o Provided forensic support during a license compliance audit by a major software vendor.o Configured Navisworks to display the properties of Plant 3D objects by reverse-engineering the Plant 3D project databases.o Developed a tool to manage software license requirements against regular manpower updates from HR.o Developed a tool to transfer BoM data from AutoCAD to SAP, saving hours of rework per project, and providing additional value to the 3D plant software.
