In my role as Director of Change, I am responsible for the execution and deployment of several pivotal transformation initiatives. My focus has been on delineating our customer base, refining our communication approach, formulating a fresh strategy for the period 2025 to 2029, enhancing operational efficiencies, upgrading digital platforms for our members, and crafting a five-year event vision underpinned by a social impact framework.

As the interim Chief Operating Officer, I was responsible for creating a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to facilitate the European Athletics Championships 2026. This initiative was centred around crafting a strategy driven by social impact, cultural significance, and core values. It also encompassed the formulation of a suitable budget, the establishment of comprehensive risk management protocols, and the determination of necessary resources.

Including the overall day to day-to-day business function which includes people (c70), technology, finance (£40m), and legal. I developed and led a values-based workforce recruitment process including the ongoing monitoring of people’s performance aligned with the business’s strategic objectives. I oversee and manage all the budget and risk management frameworks and report to both the board and the government.Led the operational elements of RLWC2021 which encompass the management of 32 competing teams, regulatory governance, and compliance and security. And finally, I assist the CEO with government and key stakeholder relationships – e.g., UK Sport and DCMS and the International Rugby League Federation.

Reporting into the CEO as an executive member of the SLT I was responsible for all the operational and business functions of establishing RLWC2021 as a start-up. This involved the development of all policies and procedures for the business including finance, HR, technology, procurement, admin and legal. Alongside the CEO I developed the event budget for the tournament that also included the appropriate reporting and governance structures. I also led on the Host City bidding process which secured c£5m exceeding budget forecasts. I was responsible for the establishment of a master project plan, risk register and reporting documents to DCMS and UK Sport. Additionally, I, provided leadership support to direct reports overseeing tournament services and legacy as well as overseeing several consultants and agencies.

Reporting to the Director of Projects, Planning and People I provided strategic support, guidance and planning to all areas of the business on a range of discreet projects outside BAU.Additionally, operational lead on the 2016 Four Nations International Tournament as well as supporting the COO on a organisational transformational change project that has encompassed the following themes; values, technology, a single customer view and connectivity.

Responsible for strategically managing and leading the development and delivery of all Futsal domestic and international events/competitions. Additionally, I was responsible for the delivery of the Regional Centre of Futsal Excellence fixture programme. Furthermore I managed the delivery and growth of the FA Futsal Fives recreational programme with 90 leagues as well as the Small Sided Development Fund via Sport England. Lastly, I oversaw the delivery of the FA Vauxhall Mash-Up Programme In schools across England.

Jointly established the company and directed all work related to project management, event management and national governing body consultancy work. Delivered two World Disability football events, managed numerous national and regional football competitions on behalf of the Football Association and International Federations.Secured £30m of external investment into both capital and on-going revenue sports projectsImplemented the appropriate policies, procedures and systems for the achievement of ISO 9001 certification.

Responsible for the management of a Football Development Team of six staff including objective setting, work programming, performance measurement, appraisals and personal development plans.Devised, developed and implemented the County Football development and Facilities Strategy. Secured external funding of £10m for the delivery of all football developments and facility development programmes within the county.
