After covering this role for the last year i have now been now appionted as installation manager

I joined McNicolas in June 2011, McNicolas are the contractor for Virgin Media. I completed 6 weeks of training, learning how to install the different TV boxes, Telephone and Broadband. I mainly work as a one-man crew covering Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch. The work involved is going to customer’s houses and installing their equipment, dealing with customers whose services are not working and fixing the problem. Occasionally I work as part of a two-man crew, this involves working as part of a team and sharing the workload, installation of the services and burying cables in the customers garden.September 2012 - June 2013 I covered my manager whilst he was on long-term sick leave. I had to manage the 9 men in his install crew, this role included making sure the crews were happy with there daily routes, making sure the customer were happy with the way the crews were installing there services in the property. I started for the company in August 2006 as a trainee outside engineer, working closely with several other engineers, installing and fault finding on brown goods in customers properties (TV, Home Theater Systems, DVD).In 2008 there was a chance of expanding my skill to other areas within the company as a trainee Satellite And TV Aerial Engineer, this roll involved me going into customers properties and installing satellite dishes for (Sky + Freesat) also fitting TV aerials for Digital Freeview Signals.Whilst training as a Satellite And TV Aerial Engineer I was given the opportunity to apply for a CAI (CONFEDERATION OF AERIAL INSTALLERS) Course, and Safe Working At Heights With Ladders Course.This training took place over 1 week at CAI’s Aldershot Training Centre; this meant I was away from work and home.
