My major focus is bringing forward projects involved in xenograft technologies that will inhibit various aspects of the organ rejection process and facilitate the availability of transplantable organs for everyone.

As Project Manager for ProGenetics, I directly administer the process development of biologically derived materials destined for clinical trials. This entails strategic planning for each product involving determination of end point goals, assessing capital requirements, developing realistic production time lines, determine requirements for instituting regulatory compliance (both USDA and FDA), identify potential set back risks, and produce a feasibility evaluation and budget. Some of the projects that I have worked on include recombinant forms of human Fibrinogen, Factor IX, Factor VIII and Prothrombin.For products that have been approved for development, I administer the programs that ensure regulatory compliance with the FDA and USDA, work with architects and engineers on all phase designs of capital projects along with directly interfacing with general contractors in the construction of those designs. I oversee the installation of specialized equipment and validate its functionality along with generating SOPs for both specific equipment and general operational matters. I work with personnel to train and certify them for the SOPs that have been generated.As a research scientist, I am also involved in the research of new products where I develop transgenes used in the genetic modification of animals. This allows me to interface with several investigators at different universities and companies on a wide variety of projects. During these collaborator efforts, I write and review patent applications and publications.

I directly managed all aspects of projects involving genetically modified mice and swine for the production of therapeutic proteins. This involved writing reports and present data in a logical, concise fashion to facility transfer of information.I also directly performed embryology, DNA/RNA characterization, tissue collection, milk collection, animal census and various other laboratory practices. A few other things I did in the position is to worked directly with various collaborators both inside and outside the University and developed budgets followed by ensuring the projects operated within them.
