TQ Advisory provides strategic, advisory and technical support to implementing transition and reform to the Energy and Transport sectors.Recent projects include:- Development and implementation of ISO 50001 energy management systems and cost savings for one of the UK’s largest transport companies- Project management and development of PV, Battery, EV charging and microgrid solutions for sites across the United Kingdom- Energy and carbon modeling for transport projects in the rail and bus sector- Data based efficiency programmes and solutions including the application of Ai to implement efficiency measures- Commercial and technical advisory support to investors and asset owners

Stephen undertook the role of Energy market and business development leader in Australasia for global consulting firm Arup covering Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific. Stephen achieved development and growth of the energy transaction business and project development and delivery of pumped hydro, grid scale battery, hydrogen, wind, solar, bioenergy, grid distribution and transmission projects. Key initiatives include developing the energy transaction business in the Asia Pacific region, driving market reform and initiatives in grid scale energy storage and launching RE100 in Australia.

Stephen coordinated and managed the development of a cross-discipline team covering seven offices providing infrastructure strategy, feasibility, design and delivery of large integrated infrastructure projects including Sydney North West Metro, Western Sydney Airport, Inland Rail, Northern Beaches Bus Rapid Transit, port and mine developments, city urban precinct developments and policy architecture for the Safeguard Mechanism- Australia’s emission reduction scheme.

Stephen developed a national consulting and engineering firm with offices in four states providing advisory services and turn key infrastructure solutions for some of Australia’s largest organisations. Strategic efficiency and emission reduction projects where delivered for BHP, Rio Tinto, Woodside, Shell, water utilities, regional and local councils. SIA also delivered a range of carbon and emission reduction programs, policy and reforms for the Australian Government and State Governments. The business provided major urban infrastructure reforms including energy efficiency in buildings and precincts, water-sensitive urban design, leading water treatment projects, innovative waste infrastructure, waste resource recovery projects and carbon reduction initiatives for government and industry.

As General manager of TEST Energy Stephen led the inception and development of a number of strategic clean energy and water treatment projects across Australia and SE Asia. This included feasibility, site selection, technology agreements, planning and development approvals, stakeholder management and raising grants and finance. Projects developed included waste-to-energy, onshore wind, gas-cogeneration, landfill gas and biosolid treatment projects.

As a Market Analyst at the Tasmanian Department of State Development Stephen worked across the Innovation, Science and Technology group and Major Projects in the Resource Industries team. This involved playing a key Government facing role with industry and working on the delivery of major projects including The Tasmanian Natural Gas Project and Basslink. Stephen also worked closely with industry development in the emerging renewable energy and agriculture sectors and offshore investment attraction.
