Lord Stephen Carrington – is the Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of the investment committee for the CFXT Fund Cell. He has worked in the financial services industry in the United Kingdom for over 30 years. He joined Harlow Butler Ueda in 1985 as a foreign exchange (FX) broker, and latterly director, managing large FX transactions on behalf of corporate and private clients which included institutional mutual funds, pension funds and early stage hedge funds in addition to high net worth private clients. He has worked in Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Sydney,New York and in many of the major financial cities of Europe during his career.Stephen’s team provided strategic implementation of corporate institutional fx strategy primarily across the majors and then increasingly into the exotics as the FX market grew in daily traded volume terms from $500bn per day to today’s figure of $5tr per day. His team was also responsible for proprietary fx trading.Stephen’s team provided structural, strategic and transaction advice and subsequent implementation across multiple liquidity platforms, including LIFFE, and technologies as the market grew exponentially. Growth in the market was fuelled by the reducing latency and increased electronic settlement which in turn allowed new, algorithmic selection and settlement for traders in addition to new trading opportunities and styles. During Stephen’s 20 years at [ ] he developed and managed state of the art trading strategies that could be deployed manually and subsequently, algorithmically.In 2001 Stephen, while at Harlow, was called upon to lead the team to set up ICAP FX, which in turn became the leading FX broker in Europe.In 2004 he moved to LIFFE, the largest futures and options exchange in Europe, as a futures trader trading fx and soft commodities where he spent four years on the trading floor. The exchange had grown exponentially as Euronext LIFFE and developed leading edge settlement technology which joined the Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Lisbon and London exchanges to form a global exchange.Stephen’s clients continued to utilise his trading style, which included arbitrage, until 2008 when Stephen launched his own firm: CFXT Corporation, which continued to trade the successful principles developed since 1985 but increasingly focusing on the institutional collateral transfer and private placement markets for his own wealth and selective family office investors around the world.
