Conduct risk assessments of current and former employees, contractors, and others who exhibit disturbing or unwanted behavior in the workplace and provide guidance for successful resolution of difficult or unusual workplace misconduct problems. Deliver training to corporate clients to promote the early identification and mitigation of workplace misconduct, and to develop safe, cost-effective solutions. Deliver Investigative Interview training to Human Resources, Employee Relations, Legal, Compliance, Investigations, and Security professionals to facilitate the efficient collection of complete and accurate information using a non-confrontational and respect-based approach. Review workplace conduct policies for clients and assist with development of detailed emergency action plans to prepare for an armed attack in the workplace.

Managed a team that investigated serious employee misconduct issues, including conflicts of interest, misuse of confidential information and corporate IT systems, and misappropriation of assets, for one of the country’s largest retailers. Also investigated supply chain irregularities, unauthorized sub-contracting, improper material substitution, and the offer and solicitation of prohibited payments and amenities.

Instrumental in the design and implementation of a global investigation program for a new Fortune 50 company created as a result Hewlett-Packard’s 2015 corporate separation. Overhauled HP’s legacy investigation program to ensure that worldwide risks were quickly and correctly identified, assessed, prioritized and mitigated. Directed the most complex and sensitive investigations worldwide, and ensured that a global team of investigators effectively managed all top-tier investigations in strict compliance with company guidelines and local laws and customs.

Directed six investigators who were responsible for leading more than 200 internal misconduct investigations per year in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Latin America, and personally led the most significant investigations involving senior executives and other compliance issues which could result in serious financial or reputational impact to the company.Managed HP’s internal investigation program for the Americas region, including the hiring, training, and development of investigative staff; formulating best practices and other performance standards; setting individual and program goals; and measuring and reporting program performance. At the conclusion of each investigation, reviewed evidence for sufficiency, ensured correct conclusions were reached, approved investigative reports, and communicated significant findings to key stakeholders.

Successfully investigated hundreds of allegations of theft, embezzlement, conflicts of interest, bribery and kickbacks, misuse of confidential information, improper revenue recognition, and claims of retaliation and discrimination throughout the Americas region. Developed an investigative plan for each case, directed the work of other team members, led key witness and subject interviews, and wrote final reports, including recommendations for internal control improvements.

Investigated a variety of criminal matters, including bank fraud and embezzlement, mortgage fraud, mail and wire fraud, violent crime, racketeering, drug trafficking, public corruption, and civil rights violations. Participated in the FBI’s management program for 16 years as a Relief Supervisor and acting Supervisory Special Agent for various investigative squads, and as a Supervisory Special Agent and National Program Manager in the Organized Crime Section at FBI headquarters. Often selected by FBI management to conduct critical interviews of key suspects in sensitive and high-profile cases, and delivered FBI-sponsored interview training to domestic and foreign law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
