Transformative education starts with a transformative mindset and when we empower our students and teachers with this mindset, the entire school community can experience true and lasting transformation. I've spent the last eleven years teaching this Entrepreneurial Mindset to students and teachers alike, and it is based in understanding growth mindset, developing grit, redefining failure, and seeking opportunity. Out of this, students gain future-ready skills such as collaboration, effective communication, emotional intelligence, and creative problem solving all while being engaged in real-world hands-on learning (often through running a business on a K-12 school campus). I launched a business called Seed Tree Group in order to help K-12 schools around the nation develop meaningful entrepreneurship programs that both engage their community and increase their enrollment while solving the problem of differentiation in a saturated market. My book, Teaching the Entrepreneurial Mindset, is available on Amazon and tells the story of the true transformative power of teaching in this way. If we are going to truly prepare our students for the uncertainty and volatility of the future, we need to empower them with the necessary skills alongside a mindset of renewal.
