I have worked in and around the advertising industry for over 30 years (including starting and running my own companies and consultancies), both agency and brand-side. I have a deep interest in, and understanding of, the marketing process, and how it can benefit consumers.As much as I enjoy, and thrive, working at a highly strategic level - with C-suite executives - I also relish rolling up my sleeves, and delivering on the idea; making the theory a reality. I am highly productive and, whilst I understand the necessary imperative of relevant outputs, I never lose sight of the greater importance of outcomes. I believe I inspire others, and help to co-create a vision with them. I have a huge appetite and ability to learn - and see facilitating the people around me to also learn as a fundamental part of my role, tackling the ever-changing and evolving landscape. I also view leadership as a service to help enable; I like people - able to effectively communicate, at all levels - and want them to be the best they can be.And I have always appreciated that we - all - are 'selling' to someone, somewhere along the line - something I enjoy, ensuring I employ empathy and intention in the process, delivering a win-win conclusion... and a conversion...
