My interests have always trended towards understanding, either that of past events or future scenarios. I suppose that accounts for the odd mix of Economics and Marketing in my education. The combination gives me something of a scientific grounding, while at the same time the very nature of a Marketing role allows the freedom to not be tied to just what is in one particular discipline, but rather to be able to explore possibilities over a wide range of circumstances.My experience, when it comes to the pure Marketing side, is quite far ranging from Research to Development to Process enhancements to Customer Interactions. I have always felt it to be most effective when I can deliver a broad base of understand when representing my discipline. My focus, in any given situation, has always been on what is best for all involved. What end result will be of the most benefit to all involved and still ensure that the customer will want to do business with you again?On the other side of the coin, I desire to understand the whole business equation. Every aspect of the business plays a role and all must work together to deliver an optimal output. From that perspective, I have tried to understand the interactions and activities of all business disciplines. This has proved to be particularly useful in bringing together fractious parties when trying to solve for complex situations.
