Since 2007 I have amassed a wealth of experience in commercial property practice with an emphasis on Property Management and L&T consultancy, gained during periods of highly variable and often challenging property market conditions.My general practice surveying background has provided me with extensive Property Management and Landlord & Tenant/Lease Appraisal experience applicable to both occupiers and owners of commercial property. My role positions me as a central team player, liaising effectively with professional colleagues, contractors and third party client advisors to achieve client objectives. Examples of my typical work include dealing with lease applications and licences, overseeing rent reviews and lease renewals from trigger to conclusion, active management to enhance value and mitigate risk, arrears recovery and insolvency matters, service charge administration and contract management. I also provide advice to clients to enable compliance with statutory and insurance requirements appropriate to commercial property.Negotiation and conflict avoidance forms a key element of my work, owing to the often confrontational nature of the landlord and tenant relationship. This calls upon my detailed understanding of clients’ real estate objectives and risks posed from the outset of each instruction. I advise clients as to the operation of dispute resolution procedures where applicable to commercial lease situations.More recently I have also widened my expertise into domains of strategic estate management. This routinely involves interacting and collaborating with a range of colleagues and external property professionals whereby acquisitions and disposals of assets are contemplated across an array of scenarios.
