Stephen Chick has been Chief Investment Officer of Sebis Garden Capital LLC (“Sebis Garden”) since January 2022. With over twenty-five years of work in the investment management industry, Steve has a diverse financial background that includes private and public deal experience, an expertise in publicly traded securities and credentials in public accounting.​​Before joining Sebis Garden, Steve worked for The Yucaipa Companies ("Yucaipa"), the private investment firm of billionaire investor, Ron Burkle. Yucaipa has completed $40 billion in M&A transactions since its founding in 1986. Following a successful career on Wall Street, Steve moved to LA in 2011 to join Yucaipa, where he was responsible for sourcing deals and evaluating investments for Ron. He was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2013 after two years with the firm. Steve was Senior Vice President at Yucaipa until June 2020; he was a Senior Advisor to Yucaipa through December 2021. Prior to joining Yucaipa, Steve spent thirteen years in sell-side equity research in New York, covering publicly traded equities at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities (DLJ), J.P. Morgan Securities (JPM) and FBR Capital Markets (FBR).As a Managing Director, he led highly ranked research teams at JPM and FBR, and he was recognized for seven consecutive years in the All-America Institutional Investor Research poll for Supermarket/Drug Chains (ranked #2 for three years from 2004 through 2006). He worked for eight years at JPM, where he was promoted to Managing Director from Vice President in 2005.As an equity analyst, Steve achieved several securities licenses, including FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, 86 and 87.Before Wall Street, Steve was a Manager in the audit practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he worked for five years out of the Boston and New York offices. Steve was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1999, and he earned his CPA license in 1994.​Steve graduated from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts in 1992 with a B.S. in Accounting.Sebis Garden Capital LLC is a Los Angeles-based private investment firm and single family office concentrated on investment management, consulting and trust administration.
