Support Worker
• Supporting people who have disabilities with their independent living skills.• Experience working with a range of different learning disabilities and mental health diagnoses, including: Schizophrenia, Autism, Di George syndrome, Downs Syndrome, Cerebellar Atrophy, OCD, Addiction, personality disorders and depression.• Experience planning and implementing a brand new supported living service.• Working flexible hour’s e.g. weekends, holidays, and sleep over shifts.• Following a planned schedule, being organised and using my excellent time management skills to ensure the needs of this schedule are met correctly each day.• Administrating prescribed medication correctly for various residents.• Communicating with a range of different people in many varying environments, such as residents and their family members, team members, management, nurses, social workers and more.• Experience and training in how to handle high pressure, intense, and inappropriate situations. Also including manipulative and narcissistic behaviours.• Able to create a comfortable, relaxed and friendly rapport with others easily and maintain excellent working relationships at all levels.• Regularly carrying out administration duties including detailed reports on daily activities, physical and emotional health of residents, as well as carrying out an efficient hand over for the next member of staff on duty.• Being responsible for and managing the residents daily finances budget, ensuring at the end of every shift all receipts and spend are recorded in petty cash correctly.
