I am in charge of the pick and pack area. I make sure all orders are shipped in a timely manner, while making sure all warehouse associates are supported in the daily operation. -Manage the Pick & Pack staffing and daily prioritization of work in order to maintain a 98% on-time shipment of all new orders.-Monitor the stock status, expiration dates, and quality of pick & pack products to ensure that all products are correctly available (or not available) for sale.-Train and manage Pick & Pack employees and temps to meet targets for labor efficiency. Identify and support the implementation of process improvements to make the Pick & Pack Operation more efficient.

Working with employees of diverse backgrounds, I have learned to understand different types of personalities and create a positive work environment. By organizing and orchestrating each set-up and take-down job, I have created teamwork leading to fluidity in the overall operation.-Lead work teams during preparations at the warehouse and during job site set up. -Enhance company logistics by coordinating and scheduling multiple jobs. -Coordinate loading of trucks for events, maximizing space so that larger trucks are free for other jobs.

During my one year of service, I was given the responsibility of starting and maintaining my own projects due to the extremely limited staff size of the Volunteer Center. I successfully: -created and customized multiple volunteer software trainings for individuals and agencies. -tracked the fundraising progress of more than 70 college students for out annual Alternative Spring Break, an event where college students from around the country come down to Mississippi for a week to volunteer. -maintained communication with the college teams through weekly eNewsletters with Constant Contact and Facebook. -worked closely with board members to recruit corporate volunteers for Day of Caring, a day of volunteering in the community. -reached out to local companies to secure funds for both Day of Caring and Alternative Spring Break. -served on-site at events to lend any support that was needed by the volunteers and host sites. -contacted agencies to gain information about their holiday needs for the Holiday Volunteering and Giving Guide and translated that information into a text-ready format for newspaper print. -disseminated and processed applications from agencies for the annual Volunteer Recognition and prepared the room the day of the event, including the PowerPoint presentation. -coordinated volunteer groups up to 300 people from the United States by securing housing and volunteer work during a weeklong trip to restore the Gulf Coast. -recruited and managed between 50-100 volunteers during 3 annual volunteer events. -expanded the Volunteer Center into a new county through recruiting and marketing, an increase of coverage of more than 33% from the two counties already served.

I used my volunteer experience to educate high school students about volunteer opportunities within their community.-Developed an excel database listing all high schools in Morris County and the school organizations and volunteer opportunities offered that was used to determine the variety of clubs and organizations offered at each school. -Introduced volunteer opportunities to students throughout Morris County looking to fulfill required volunteer hours for graduation, resulting in more than 500 students meeting their graduation requirements
