I line manage a team of Investigators and am responsible for quality assuring their reports, personnel management and any welfare or disciplinary issues. I have also taken on a project manager role and have managed several projects including the procurement, building and management of a new case management system to help the organisation manage our work and improve the organisations efficiency and recording of statistics. I also have experience in the Head of Operations role covering during a period of absence and continue to cover when the need arises. My responsibilities include liaising directly the Ombudsman and Services, dealing with time critical or sensitive work, holding team briefings and managing the organisations investigators and workloads.

Lead InvestigatorIndependent Office For Police Conduct Sep 2015 - May 2018My role as lead investigator was to lead independent investigations including criminal and misconduct allegations inaccordance with agreed IOPC guidelines. This included conducting investigations within agreed timescales, budget and quality standards. This also included interviewing and taking statements, preparing case files and making recommendations for criminal and/or disciplinary action. I was also required to take part in criminal, misconduct and inquest proceedings where necessary. I kept senior management updated by reporting on investigation progress, areas of risk and resourcing requirements. As part of my role I was responsible for visiting incident scenes and supervising scene management were required to ensure that all necessary action is taken to preserve and recover evidence. Further to this I attended post mortems, liaised with bereaved families and wrote investigation reports upon completion of the investigation for submission to the IPCC Commissioner. I also held responsibility for communicating effectively with complainants, bereaved families and other internal and external stakeholders. -
OfficerNational Crime Agency (Nca) Feb 2013 - Sep 2015I was employed to SOCA/NCA as an Investigations Officer within the Fraud Prevention Team. Here my role was to develop new and different ways of dealing with complex fraud compared to more tradition law enforcement techniques, identifying and targeting enablers to create and employ disruption tactics. I personally worked on projects tackling issues such as Boiler Room Fraud, Pension liberation Fraud, Romance Fraud and the abuse of Money Service Bureaus by Organised Crime Groups. My current work is focussed on investigations into the abuse of the passport system by Organised Crime Groups, specifically use of fraudulently obtained genuine passports (FOGS) and how they had been used to facilitate multiple offences in the UK. I also worked on the use of E-currency within organised crime and the exploitation of the “Darkweb” as an enabler of crime. -
Fraud InvestigatorHsbc Nov 2005 - Jan 2013worked within a team for the Major Fraud Unit as part of the UK Fraud Department of HSBC. The team provided a focal point for the reporting of complex and serious fraud and other such cases of financial crime perpetrated against the Bank and its customers.
