Stephen has over 40 years’ experience in Wealth Management, Investment Banking, Stockbroking and Fund Management. He has been Chief Executive of significant financial institutions, including Oppenheimer International, and Gerrard Investment Management. He was also formerly NED of Nutmeg the online investment management business, and is currently an NED of Access Bank UK.He is an Honours Graduate in Financial Services from UMIST and is a former Visiting Fellow at Manchester Business School. He regularly lectures on Corporate Governance, Financial Services and Risk Management.His activities include: Chair, 3H Fund; Co-Chair of the Disciplinary Panel, Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment; and a Trustee (formerly Chair 2017-2022) of Marshalls Charity (Church of England). He is also a member of Henley Business School Strategy Board. His former activities include Chair of Medway NHS Foundation Trust, and acting as a business mentor under the London First Leadership Exchange scheme with the Metropolitan Police.He is a Past Master of The Worshipful Company of Wheelwrights and Chairman of the Battle Back Appeal. He is also the Past Chairman of The Broad Street Ward Club and a former Deputy Chairman of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity. A member of the Oriental Club and the HAC.He has been a Territorial Army Officer and holds the Territorial Decoration. He is a Freeman of the City of London, a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers.He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Canterbury Christ Church University for contribution to Higher Education and society. He is a former Pro-Chancellor and Chair of Governors at Canterbury Christ Church University
