Some people see a 6; others see a 9; it is all a matter of perspective. I am a massive believer in achieving results that hold the greatest value for everyone. To achieve these results, it is essential to understand the other person’s point of view. This starts with a conversation with a genuine desire to understand and help.I started my career as a technician before realising that it was not for me. I remember reflecting upon my skills and being relatively new in a career, I had little to go off except my technical expertise and an ability to talk (a skill that my high school teachers did not overly appreciate). These skills led me to sales. Throughout my time in sales, I acquired valuable skills and fundamental beliefs that would drive me through leadership and direct me to what I truly value. Some of these beliefs are:• Failure is not a failure if you can learn and grow from it.• Success is a matter of perspective; it comes in many shapes and forms.• Persistence will beat resistance; in the face of adversity, stay strong to what you believe in.• Continual improvement is incremental if it is to be sustained.• Black and white is not always black and white; our prior experiences will alter what we see today. So first, seek to understand before trying to be understood.The turning point at which my perspective on success changed from a very hedonistic viewpoint to one that considered the impacts it held on others was when my first child was born. I no longer viewed success purely on what I achieved but gained a solid standpoint for interdependency and what we could achieve together. From here, my career in leadership flourished. I find immense satisfaction in helping and seeing the people around me grow and develop. I am passionate about seeing people hit their goals. Of course, I still have my own goals to achieve and areas of opportunity to grow within, but just like seeing others grow motivates me, I hope my actions inspire others in return.I have 10+ years of experience in sales and marketing management and leadership. Throughout this time, I have gained incredible experience. I am currently enjoying the challenge and progression towards completing my MBA and Bachelor of Psychology to further grow and develop my business management and leadership skillset.
