One of four developers responsible for reviewing all code changes submitted for the daily build. Selected as part a team of 5 developers to create a standalone version of the application to work on a laptop – for deployment in the field of battle. Chosen for the team to implement a new real time performance analysis function, we instrumented the entire application to send transaction and interface timing data to Tivoli. Lead a development team to certify Clinical Workstation as DII COE compliant, being responsible for support, test and troubleshooting for the mid-tier applications. Implemented data validation and system monitoring tools on the Veteran’s Administration (VA) Health Data Repository Prototype (HDRP). -

Designed and wrote much of the text and graphics for the context-sensitive online help. Feasibility study done for the U.S. Border Patrol to implement an RFID tracking system at several border crossing truck inspection facilities.Converted an existing 16-bit stand-alone access control application written in VB4 into a 32-bit ActiveX server written in VB6. Encapsulated 16-bit DLL from third party vendor as a server to work with 32-bit client. Designed remote client components to access the new ActiveX server over an existing wide area frame-relay network. Directed deployment of the application and related equipment to 22 remote offices statewide. Integrated fingerprint scanners to control door locks and alarms and to retrieve personnel information. Application used a distributed access client server model with central database and integrated reporting tools. Designed a configuration management tool to provide centralized software updates, and remote application launch and shutdown.
