Owner, Ceo

Washington Power Professional Lacrosse Team

Straddling his last years as the Managing Partner of his Comiskey & Hunt law firm and his first years as a Private Wealth Advisor at Morgan Stanley, Steve became a professional sports team owner himself when he bought the Pittsburgh Crossefire of the National Lacrosse League (NLL), relocated it to Washington, D.C., and renamed it the Washington Power. With all-time lacrosse greats, and twin brothers, Gary Gait and Paul Gait as the heart of the Washington Power – and with Steve and his family as the soul of the Washington Power – Steve and his family and the Gait Brothers brought championship professional indoor lacrosse to the Capital One Arena and to all lacrosse fans in the greater Washington/Baltimore area. Steve eventually sold the Washington Power to Stan Kroenke – the owner of the Colorado Avalanche (NHL), the Denver Nuggets (NBA), the Colorado Rapids (MLS), the Los Angeles Rams (NFL), and the Arsenal Football Club (Premier League) – who renamed the Washington Power the Colorado Mammoth and relocated the Team to his Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.

Founding Partner

Comiskey And Hunt Lawfirm

Steve left Miller & Chevalier to start his own eponymous law firm – Comiskey & Hunt – representing many Washington, D.C., government and business luminaries, sports team owners, and other notable entrepreneurs during the golden years of high tech and information technology in Northern Virginia. Trial Lawyer

Steve left Marine Corps active duty service when he was hired away from the Marine Corps by legendary Washington tax lawyer John Nolan to become a civil trial lawyer at the Washington, D.C., law firm Miller & Chevalier.
