Stephen has considerable experience advising strategic and private equity participants in all New Zealand tax aspects of cross border investments into New Zealand. This includes target selection and screening, tax due diligence, tax aspects of acquisition models, structuring requirements, tax clauses in sale and purchase agreements, implementation and post-merger integration aspects. Stephen has been involved in many of New Zealand’s significant M&A transactions.He has advised and consulted to many large New Zealand companies across utilities, logistics, manufacturing, FMCG and service industries. Stephen was twice recognised as a leading tax adviser by World Tax.He has led the New Zealand tax M&A transaction services team for a global firm.
