Led the development and global rollout of HSBC’s new Conduct Approach, working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders (including HGHQ Board members, GEC members, and operational staff) to establish a new approach to Conduct for HSBC (guiding staff to do the right thing and to focus on the impact they have on customers and the markets in which they operate). This, in turn, addressed a Real-Time Issue (RTI) raised by internal Audit who had identified the need for the 1LoD and 2LoD, across all financial and non-financial risks, to improve their approach to Conduct Risk management. • Strategic Leadership: Led programme phases (Design and Align, Mobilisation, Implementation) to integrate Conduct Risk across 250,000 employees in 62 countries, across all functions, aligning it with HSBC’s Purpose and Values.• Governance & Reporting (Conduct, Policy and Whistleblowing): Developed a globally integrated framework for compliance, centralising processes and creating centres of excellence for efficiency and improving outcomes.

• Directly responsible for compliance strategy development, governance improvements, and risk mitigation initiatives as part of the UK Regulatory Compliance (UKRC) Executive Leadership Team.• Transformation Management: Led the FCA Firm Evaluation Letter response, improving compliance processes and building ‘centres of excellence’ for efficiency and improved outcomes.• Crisis Leadership: Directed the UK Compliance team’s Covid-19 response, maintaining regulatory compliance and ensuring operational resilience with zero regulatory breaches

Oversaw a team of 175 FTE and a multimillion-pound budget for RBWM strategy execution.• Transformation Projects: Developed and implemented the People Priorities framework (enhancing employee experience, performance management, and capability-building initiatives) improving employee engagement and business performance.• Innovation: Developed an award-winning Training and Competency Scheme for 17,000 employees, which was later adopted across HSBC Group.

Designed and implemented incentive frameworks and regulatory competency programs across 25,000 FTE, significantly improving performance alignment and standardisation across the UK and Europe. In support of the UK bank growth strategy re-designed Mortgage ‘end to end’ process – reducing approval journey from 125 days to 4 days; incorporating third-party introducers; tripled Mortgage Manager FTE.

Led large scale transformation programmes to improve customer experience, increase revenue and operational efficiencies; including aligning Global Target Operating Models, End to End Re-engineering, and Straight-through Processing (including the introduction of electronic statements).

Deputy Regional Director, East: Transformed underperforming Region (10,000 square miles, 8 Areas, 1500 FTE) into a top quintile contributor with annual contribution £180m. Area Director, Central London Region: Successfully revitalised largest UK area by both FTE and income.Relationship Manager, Corporate Banking: Recognised as ‘National Corporate Relationship Manager of the Year’ for successfully managing and growing a portfolio of companies with turnovers between £10 million and £100 million.
